Free from the restrains of trends, Michaela Pontiki’s work ranges from conceptual design to absolute wearable collections. Through an architectural approach on fashion, Michaela is highly interested in the form through function and supports that the re-approach of sustainability is achievable mainly through materialism functionality. With a social insight, she explores moral, ethical and cultural issues that can be highlighted by her design. She believes that design is limitless and is interested in the purpose of actions and the ‘stories’ behind the objects; for her, a problem occurred is just an intermediate step to a deeper establishment of a project’s context.
Her projects are a means to state her thoughts, question established structures and create the space of doubt.
